- column 1 must be the 33 years from 2008 to 2040
Use the black cross/white cross trick after you highlight the first two
- column 2 must show what happens when $100 is deposited in a bank at 3% annual interest (the cell for year 2008 is $100 and the cell for 2009 is $103)
Use a formula such as = 1.03*B1 perhaps
Use the black cross/white cross trick after you highlight just the SECOND one
- column 3 must show what happens when $100 is deposited in a bank at 4% annual interest (the cell for year 2008 is $100 and the cell for 2009 is $104)
Use a formula such as = 1.04*C1 perhaps
- column 4 must show what happens when $100 is deposited in a bank at 6% annual interest (the cell for year 2008 is $100 and the cell for 2009 is $106)
- column 5 must show what happens when $100 is deposited in a bank at 8% annual interest (the cell for year 2008 is $100 and the cell for 2009 is $108)
- column 6 must show what happens when $100 is deposited in a bank at 9% annual interest (the cell for year 2008 is $100 and the cell for 2009 is $109)
- after studying what happens over 33 years, please color the first cell in each column where the money has doubled, e.g. reached $200; if it ever reaches $400 to double again, please color that one also. By color, we mean change the FILL COLOR.
Don't forget this step (every multiple of 200)
